It began as a basic text presentation application. Custom worship packages used projectors to display song lyrics, scriptures, and other announcements during services. Some packages (Paperless Hymnal, M3Launch, and others) were PowerPoint Enhancing Software). Later worship software began to include musical notes as an augmentation to the lyrics.

Modern packages are capable of using images, movies, and live video as text backgrounds. They include image morphing and fading routines, and they often feature enhanced search engines, and PC to projector serial control.

Easy Worship, perhaps the most popular worship software on the market, supports dual displays, text over live capture feeds, bible verse display from 19 include translations, and a superimpose short messages feature. Easy Worship is also easy to use.

Worship Session, a unique HTML based package, can be used “on stage” in either single or dual monitor setup. This product permits the performer to remain hands-free by using an add-on foot pedal for presentation control. Worship Session also stands out in its ability to show chords and user notes to the performer without showing them to the audience.

There are over forty known worship packages. Some are free (VideoPress and ZionWorx), and some merely offer a free trial. They come in duel languages, and they come for various operating systems. At least two of the known packages, OpenLP and DreamBeam, are open-source. These feature lyric and bible databases. They also handle sound, video, and PowerPoint presentations.

So how are worship leaders making effective use of these graphic devotional tools?

Flying logos, character animation, floating lyrics, and more are now common visual effects. Haunting video backgrounds accompany the lyrics to heart moving praise and worship. One particular worship leader created background in which a deceased pastor’s face would fad out into the face of Jesus. Others have used worship software to integrate pre-staged newscasts into the midst of an ongoing Christmas or Easter play. With the right collection of applications, presenting Scriptures and sermon notes on top of a live feed is just a few clicks away.

Fading, using, and blending images has never been easier. Touching hearts and winning souls is the purpose. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God,” but Jesus used a fish for teaching. Should we not also use all available tools? And the good news is that you do not need expensive equipment to make it happen.

Never ever suppose that simply because a background picture with words seems cool around the laptop display screen, will seem cool projected onto a display. Three components will alter the picture when it truly is projected.

1. The level of light, mainly sunlight, from the area will diffuse, or soften the picture around the display.

2. The distance from your projector on the display screen will diffuse the picture.

3. The site on the display, both inside a very well lighted image, or perhaps a darker one will have an effect on the contrast and excellence of a picture.

4. Restrict the amount of fonts to not over two. Fonts that I located effortless to go through have been: Helvetica, Arial, and Verdana. Chances are you’ll obtain other fonts which give good results to suit your needs. I’d use a font dimension from 24 to large 30′s, based on what I was displaying.
